Clever installation with the Easy 45 System
What is Easy 45?
Easy 45 is a variable, individually configurable installation technology system. Standardized components such as panels or plates, frames, power sockets and many different interface modules can be mounted and easily exchanged without tools using the modular principle.
What does the Easy 45 System consist of?
Easy 45 is made of two components that can be combined and assembled in different ways. The module holder is the base on which the single module or several modules can be mounted, depending on the requirement.
Module holders
The module holders differ by type of mounting. There are module holders for A flush mounting, B on-wall mounting, C 10“ and 19“ racks and D the cable duct.
Modules
The inserts that can be mounted into module holders are called modules. The standard dimensions are 22.5 x 45 mm and 45 x 45 mm. Depending on the size of the module holder, a varying number of modules can be used. Modules can be summarized in three functional groups. The fourth group of modules are the module cover plates and Keystone holders which do not have their own function.
1. Functional modules for power supply
This group includes grounded power 220 V sockets, switches, charging port modules and power supply cables. All power sockets have a simple snap-in mechanism which means they are firmly in place and can be easily removed if necessary.

2. Functional modules for network
The area of functional modules for network provides classical network connectors like BNC, RJ45, D-Sub 9 pin and 6 or 10 pin terminal Block.
The Easy 45 modules with retractable cable are available in different connection variants or combinations, here for the network area e.g. RJ45 plug to RJ45 plug. The retractable cables are very flexible in the practical application. Thanks to the clever spring mechanism, they can be extended to six different lengths. When the connector is no longer needed, it is quickly rolled up and stowed away. Further retractable cables can be found in the following section multimedia modules.
3. Functional modules for multimedia
The term "multimedia" summarizes products for audio and video. Accordingly, all functional modules for multimedia also have connections for processing and transmitting image and sound signals. For example, in the field of home cinema, the Easy 45 modules can be well integrated into the home.
HDMI connectors can be found on almost all modern TVs, AV receivers, laptops, computers and monitors. Depending on the specification of the interface, video signals with an resolution of up to 8K 60 Hz and sound signals up to Dolby Atmos can be transmitted. In contrast to HDMI, which is mainly used in TV and multimedia devices such as projectors, game consoles and DVD players, DisplayPort™ is mainly used in information technology, for example in PCs, laptops, tablets and monitors in general. By the way, the technology was developed to replace older standards like DVI and VGA. Easy 45 modules with VGA and DVI are of course still in the range.
Some modules cannot transmit image signals, but only audio signals and still belong to the multimedia area. These are connectors that are especially well suited for speakers or analogue audio connections. Wall outlets for speaker cabling can be integrated elegantly like the HDMI and DisplayPort™ connectors.

In some cases, it may be practical to use an existing, previously unused network cable as a connection between two ports instead of laying new cables. For example, if the two devices which shall be connected with each other, are connected at the same cable. In this case, the network cable serves as an extension between the connectors – the connection via a network switch is not possible.
4. Module plates and Keystone holders
The module plates have round cut-outs with different diameters, for example M6 (6.2 mm), M8 (8.2 mm), M10 (10.2 mm), M15 (15.2 mm) or also 19.2 mm. There are models with one or two round cut-outs. The plates can accommodate different connectors according to their cut-out diameters, for example audio cables with stereo jack female or DC female.
A module plate with rectangular cut-out (26 x 9.5 mm) is available for mounting an optical fiber SC duplex coupling. Another plate has a rectangular cut-out with the dimensions 21.5 x 12.5 mm which can accommodate, for example, an HDMI or DisplayPort™ adapter. Cover plates without cut-out can be used to cover a free module port in a 45 mm module holder. All module plates have a low material thickness of only 1.5 millimeters, which provides sufficient strength while taking up little space during installation.
The Keystone holders are a special sub group of plates. Delock‘s Keystone system includes more than 140 different modules. The Easy 45 Keystone holders with their standardized dimensions enable a simple snap-in mounting of Keystone elements, so there are hardly any limits to flexibility. The Keystone holders are available in 6 different colors. Different networks or applications can be encoded by color and differentiated in this way.
